Very Important News About Servicing!!
This is very important for those of you who have a bike under warranty.
There has been a major change in legislation recently called Block Exemption. When we (mis-guidedly) became harmonised with the EU there was a get out clause for the motor industry called Block Exemption. This enabled motor manufacturers and importers to carry on with their restrictive practices. This included dictating to retailers what they could and couldn't sell. As in making their dealers only allowed to be solus - i.e. selling only Harleys etc.. It also allowed manufacturers to insist that only the authorised dealers to carry out servicing whilst the vehicle was under warranty. Inasmuch that if, say, your Harley was serviced by ourselves, and independent, the warranty would be void. This is now not the case. Block Exemption no longer exists. Your bike can be serviced by us and remain under warranty. This is with the proviso that oe (original equipment) parts or those of equivalent quality are used.
There has now been a test case with Land Rover regarding a head gasket job on a Freelander (oh, what a surprise!!). They had to re write their warranty procedures as a result of this.
So what does this mean to you, the customer? BIG savings on your servicing costs!! We will for the present not charge any extra for "under warranty" servicing. So still £130 for a 5000. But please still get your first service done by the supplying dealer - you have already paid for when you bought the bike. After that, just bring it to us.
